What the report shows

  1. 1

Priced and not agreed. Every variation you have submitted and not had agreed, how long each one has waited, and the total.

  2. 2

Done without a written instruction. The work that is hardest to get paid for, and the confirmation to send now while it still counts.

  3. 3

Deadlines that cost money. NEC compensation events against the clause 61.3 time bar, and payment notices, pay less notices and final dates, counted from your own contract’s periods and the Act’s rules, bank holidays included.

  4. 4

Applied, certified, paid. The gap between what you asked for, what was certified and what reached your account, application by application.

  5. 5

What to send, and by when. The letters in the order they should go, with the last day each one counts.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Ask for a check

The form takes a minute. We reply within one working day to say where to send the documents.

  2. Step 2

    Send one live job

The variation schedule, the instructions you have, and the applications and notices. Spreadsheets, emails, PDFs, photos of a site diary: whatever you keep is fine.

  3. Step 3

    We check it

We load the job into VariationFlow, which reads every date against the contract and the Act, and a person checks every figure before it reaches you.

  4. Step 4

    Report and call

A report in pounds within two working days of receiving the documents, and a 20-minute call to go through it.

What it costs

Nothing. No card, no contract, nothing to install. If you want the dates on that job watched from then on, VariationFlow's Free plan covers one project and two users with no card, and we will help you set the job up in it. If not, the report is yours to keep.

Who it is for

UK subcontractors on NEC4, JCT or bespoke subcontracts, and firms doing domestic work for homeowners. England, Wales and Scotland, and Northern Ireland, where the days are counted differently and the report counts them the Northern Irish way.

Why it is free

Because the quickest way to show what VariationFlow does is to do it on one of your jobs.

Your documents

We use what you send for the check and for nothing else, keep it private, and delete it when you ask. The privacy notice has the detail.

The report is decision support, not legal advice. Where a deadline is close or a sum is disputed, take advice on your contract before you act.
