VariationFlow

For NEC4 subcontracts

Seven weeks to notify. Every event on the clock.

On an NEC4 Engineering and Construction Subcontract, a compensation event you do not notify in time is lost, however good the claim. VariationFlow runs each event's clocks on the subcontract's own periods, not the main contract's, and shows every deadline before it closes.

What the subcontract asks of you

Notify within seven weeks

Clause 61.3: notify a compensation event within seven weeks of becoming aware of it. Miss it and the Prices and the Completion Date do not change.

Quote within two weeks

Clause 62.3: submit your quotation within two weeks of being instructed to. The Contractor then has four weeks to reply.

Three more weeks of silence

Clause 62.6: if the reply does not come, notify the failure, and a further three weeks of silence is deemed acceptance of your quotation.

How VariationFlow handles it

  • Your periods, not the main contract's

Every clock uses the subcontract's periods, so a deadline is never shown later than it really is.

  • Z clauses recorded once

If your amendments shorten the notification bar, as they often do, record it on the project and every event counts to that instead.

  • Contract Deadlines, most urgent first

Every notice across every project on one screen, with alerts before each one closes.

  • A record that stands up

Every action is timestamped and chained to the one before it, photos carry a SHA-256 fingerprint, and any variation exports as a verified audit document.

Contract Deadlines: overdue, opportunity and critical notices across projects, most urgent first
